Social Media for Good (Germany)
Timo Luege started his career as a journalist in Germany and remained in this profession for nearly ten years. He then worked four years as a Senior Communications Officer for the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC). During this time he was responsible for the organization’s website and launched the IFRC’s social media activities. He then joined the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) as a Protection Delegate in Liberia, before starting his own consultancy firm under the name “Social Media for Good”. Today his clients include the Red Cross Red Crescent Movement, UN agencies and NGOs. His field missions include deployments to Haiti, the Philippines, Mali and Myanmar. He regularly teaches courses on technology and disaster response through TechChange.
