Licia Florio

Licia Florio joined TERENA in 2001, as a Project Development Officer to support TERENA's task forces and contribute to technical projects. Licia’s primary area of work focuses on the coordination of Identity and Trust activities within the organisation.

Since 2009, Licia is working on the GÉANT project where she leads the Joint Research Activity on 'Identity and Trust for GEANT Services'.

Togethe with Nicole Harris, she coordinating REFEDS (Research and Education Federations), the voice that articulates the mutual needs of research and education identity federations worldwide, and provides a range of working groups, advisories and services to enhance interaction and interoperability between identity federations.

As of May 2015, Licia will become the coordinator of the AARC (Authentication and Authorisation for Research and Collaboration) project. The AARC EC-funded project aims to address the integration among different AAIs operated by the various research collaborations and e-Infrastructures; the non-ubiquity of federated credentials; and technical and policy challenges that are ultimately hindering global research collaborations.
